A nimble 88-year-old dancer dazzles the AGT judges with an age-defying routine.

When 88-year-old Penny Starr Sr. stepped onto the America’s Got Talent stage, no one quite knew what to expect. But what followed was an unforgettable and unpredictable performance that left both the judges and audience thoroughly entertained. Proudly calling herself America’s senior burlesque dancer, Penny was regarded as a true national treasure.

Born in Palm Bay, Florida, Penny arrived in a dazzling outfit adorned with red, white, and blue feathers, ready to put on a show. “I want to give America a real show—a get-up-and-go show!” she declared, radiating confidence and charm.

The lively senior had the judges laughing even before her performance began. When Simon Cowell inquired about her relationship status, Penny cheekily responded that she was a widow—six times over! When asked if she’d consider a seventh marriage, she quipped, “Yes, but it takes some time to break them in.”

Penny then launched into her routine, dancing to You’re a Grand Old Flag. To the judges’ delight, she began playfully shedding layers of clothing, staying true to her burlesque roots. Emcee Terry Crews joined in the fun, showering the stage with red, white, and blue confetti in celebration of her performance.

The judges were thoroughly entertained. Sofia Vergara applauded Penny’s energy, exclaiming, “I want to be you when I grow up!” Heidi Klum, the former Victoria’s Secret model, also cheered her on.

Simon Cowell, clearly captivated by the sassy senior, even flirted with her during the feedback. Then, with a mischievous grin, he asked the question that would determine her fate: “If you go through to the next round, will there be even less clothing?” Without missing a beat, Penny confidently replied that she’d be more than happy to take things up a notch.

Howie Mandel eagerly chimed in, saying, “I want to see more!” And with that, Penny received four enthusiastic yeses from the judges.

Although she advanced to the next round, the competition was fierce, with only 54 acts chosen from 138 contestants. Unfortunately, Penny’s AGT journey ended there—but not before she left an unforgettable mark on the stage, proving that age is just a number when it comes to confidence, charisma, and a love for performing.
