On Tuesday, sophomore JUCO prospect Tui Amosa signed with the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers after committing to the team in December.
The outfielder from Auckland, New Zealand, currently plays for the Ranger College in Texas. In 11 games this season, he is batting .294 and has five RBIs. He also has scored 14 runs himself so far this baseball season.
In his freshman season with Ranger College, he played in 51 games, batted .302, had 32 RBIs, scored 39 runs, and stole nine bases.
Western Kentucky is gaining lots of respect as one of the top-end mid-majors this season. 11Point7 College Baseball has the Hilltoppers ranked 11th overall among mid-majors in their recent rankings on Feb. 17.
The team is 2-0 in 2025, with two wins over Illinois State. A handful of their games have been postponed or canceled, and their next scheduled matchup is on Feb. 21 at home against Lafayette at Nick Denes Field.
Once Amosa makes his debut for Western Kentucky, he will join a group of less than 10 players from New Zealand who have played division one college baseball.
