We all have people that are close to us and we may spend a lot of time with them. Then again, there are also people who come and go from our lives so quickly that we sometimes forget they even were there.
When a friendship takes place, and I’m talking about a true friendship, it’s important to hang onto it for as long as you can. It seems as if this is taking place between Rob Schneider and Adam Sandler.
A true movie buff will realize that they haven’t been on the screen together for quite some time. The last time that they were together was in 2020.
It isn’t the case of out of sight, out of mind because the two of them have continued with their friendship ever since they first met. In fact, Scheiner had a lot to say about it.
When he was attending the premier of Sandler’s new Netflix comedy special in New York, Schneider opened up about the relationship. They met in the 1980s and ended up starring in a number of films together, including The Water Boy and 50 First Dates.
They’ve actually been friends for some 50 years and they just continue to grow a deeper bond. Schneider said: “There’s not been a week in 30 years where he doesn’t check in on me.
“I mean, that’s true. No matter where I am in the world, I’ll get a phone call, sometimes in the middle of the night.
“He called me from Italy, [and said], ‘What are you doing?’ I go, ‘It’s two o’clock in the morning.’ ‘Well get up. I need to talk to you. Are you good?’.”
Schneider revealed that they have been friends for five decades and he thinks it’s incredible that Adam Sandler still includes him in his movies. He said: “He’s a special cat. I mean, I really, I don’t have any words to say except I love him and I just want him to be healthy, happy, successful. He’s just incredible.
“And he’s doing Happy Gilmore 2. How amazing is that?”
It is amazing to think that he is going to redo Happy Gilmore, but if he includes Rob Schneider in the movie, I’ll be the first one to get a seat.
Schneider continued talking about their relationship, saying: “It’s beautiful. Him doing Hustle was great, and Uncut Gems is great. … He’s working with really, really talented people.
“He’s got a new movie coming out with George Clooney for Netflix. It’s been a wonderful, great experience for him and a great deal for Netflix to get the biggest movie star in the world on there.”
